Next to our training and coaching, we develop slides for keynotes and the presentations that are part of the interview at NWO or ERC and illustrations for research proposals. Our support goes further than drawing pictures. We also love to offer an helping hand in the important stages before: from idea to story and from story to design.

To find the best possible images, we first need to understand the key concepts. The design process frequently proves to be a means of improving the proposal or presentation. It starts with the phase in which we sketch on paper, it continues in the phase in which we draw the illustrations and process the recommendations of peers. Because visualisation shows the essence of ideas, it helps peers to give high quality feedback on the proposal or presentation. Sometimes this means we need to go back to the drawing table and try another direction. A version fifteen of a final illustration or presentation is a witness of an evolution of ideas in which visualisation played an important role.

Creating appealing slides demands craftsmanship. During the preparations of a keynote or a presentation for a grant interview at NWO or ERC, the struggle with PowerPoint can be a time consuming activity. Often the result is not what you want. That is why we offer, next to our training Presentation design, the service of designing slides for our clients.

Communicatie: Illustratie voor onderzoeksvoorstellen

Visualization of research methods, key concepts and theoretical models often makes much more clear than is possible with text only. Moreover, good illustrations showcase the core and unique selling points of a proposal and contribute to a positive attitude of the reviewers and committee members. You never get to make a first impression twice. Especially when writing a research proposal for NWO or ERC these are reasons to take illustrations seriously.

Wat onze klanten zeggen

Naast dat wij training en coaching bieden, ontwikkelen wij ook slides voor keynotes of de presentaties die onderdeel uitmaken van interviews bij NWO of ERC en illustraties voor onderzoeksvoorstellen. Onze support beperkt zich niet tot het tekenen van plaatjes. We denken graag mee over de belangrijke stappen die daaraan vooraf gaan: van idee naar verhaal en van verhaal naar ontwerp.

Om tot het beste beeld te komen, moeten we de centrale ideeën eerst begrijpen. Het ontwerpproces helpt om een presentatie of onderzoeksvoorstel aan te scherpen. Dat begint met de fase waarin we samen de eerste schetsen maken, gaat door in de fase waarin we de illustraties tekenen en commentaren van derden verwerken. Doordat verbeelding een idee kraakhelder maakt, lokt het kwalitatief hoogstaand commentaar van meelezers of proefpubliek uit. Soms betekent dit dat we terug naar de tekentafel moeten. Wanneer de illustratie die in het definitieve onderzoeksvoorstel beland of de gebruikte presentatie versie vijftien is, getuigt dat van een evolutie van ideeën waarin verbeelding een belangrijke rol speelde.
